Southington 17, Hall 4: The Blue Knights opened and closed with authority, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning and a combined 12 runs in the sixth and seventh, to powder Hall in a CCC West-Colonial matchup in West Hartford.
Southington did quiet down after jumping out to a 5-0 lead, allowing Hall to creep back to within 5-3 in the third inning.
Relief pitching from Vincent Spizzoucco kept the Warriors in check, including on three strikeouts in the bottom of the fifth inning.
That sent Southington on to the sixth, where a five-run eruption pushed the lead up to 10-3. Andrew Paradis, Bryce Worth and Jake Romano had run-scoring hits in that inning.
Worth and J.T. Martin added RBIs in Southington's seven-run seventh.
